Cooking Instructions
10 steps
Divide sliced onions into two equal portions
Heat oil in a pan, add bay leaves, cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves
Add first portion of onions and fry until deep golden brown
Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies, sauté for 2 minutes
Add chicken pieces and cook on high heat for 5 minutes
Add yogurt, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well
Add tomato puree and cook for 10 minutes until oil separates
Add water if needed and cook until chicken is tender
Add second portion of raw onions and cook for 5 minutes (they should remain slightly crunchy)
Add garam masala, garnish with coriander, and serve hot
